The Shared Work Unemployment Compensation Program provides an alternative to layoffs for employers faced with a reduction in available work. Employers divide the available work among a group of affected employees. Employees receive a portion of their unemployment benefits while working reduced hours. The program allows employer flexibility in scheduling while retaining employees and reducing labor costs.
Resource: Mass Claims Filing
Electronic mass claims filing is designed to assist employers and employees during a temporary shutdown or permanent closure. Employee information provided by the employer allows the filing of unemployment claims quickly and efficiently.
Resource: On-Site Safety and Health Consultation Program
Designed for small businesses, On-Site can assist employers in making a workplace safer and help avoid costly penalties imposed by OSHA. The program provides free "mock" OSHA-type inspections without fines or penalties with the employer setting the scope of the virtual or in-person visit.
